We are now stocking the new 85-gallon (MHD85245) and 105-gallon (MHD105245) Rheem Marathon Water Heaters. Select DETAILS for more information.We are now stocking the new 85-gallon (MHD85245) and 105-gallon (MHD105245) Rheem Marathon Water Heaters which are heavy duty rated to be in compliance with the new water heater standards that came out last April. What you should be aware of is the tanks are shipped from the factory with a 120-degrees setting on the thermostats, same as the previous models. Since they are heavy duty, the new models can be turned up to 180-degrees. This would not be advised to do unless you are prepared to put a thermostatic mixing valve on the model.

We do not plan to carry the replacement upper and lower thermostats that can be raised to 180-degrees. With that being said - the upper and lower thermostats we currently stock can be used in place of the higher temperature ones. If you would like the new  higher temperature thermostats, we will be able to order them. Please note, this is for the 85 and 105-gallon water heaters only and does not affect the other models.

One final note, these same Rheem Marathon Water Heaters are shipped to Canada with a 140-degrees setting and it is code that they are installed with a thermostatic mixing valve.
